Occupational Therapy Assessment

Occupational Therapy Assessment

St. Helens Council wants children/young people with a disability to live as independently as possible.  Our friendly, accessible Equipment & Adaptations Service can help you improve your quality of life. All disabled people are entitled to an assessment to determine what equipment or adaptations they need.

We have a specialised Paediatric Occupational Therapist within the service who deals with children aged from 0-19

  • Our aim is to provide advice and support for people who have a disabled child in the family.
  • We provide a thorough assessment in the home to look at all of the problems the family are facing.
  • We can provide various pieces of specialised equipment to increase the child's independence and function and also to prevent injury or risk to carers.
  • We also asses the child's long-term needs in relation to major adaptations and can assist in the process of designing the facilities required for that individual.
  • To liaise with other relevant paediatric services within the St. Helens Borough, to ensure that most queries can be dealt with.
