Early Years Team
The Early Years Team, based at the Bridge Centre, offers a targeted and specialist service to children with additional needs and/or a disability and their families. We do not provide a universal service to all children.
We have an 'open referral system' where you can ask us to see your child, or you can ask a professional you already know to do so on your behalf.
At the Bridge Centre we aim to provide a family-centred service. We have written agreements which say we will work in partnership with families, other practitioners, services and agencies to achieve this.
In addition to following the guidance within Early Years Foundation Stage Profile, the National Service Framework and the SEN Code of Practice, we follow local and National guidance for safeguarding the children in our care.
Staff are trained in different aspects of disability and additional needs. We update our skills regularly so that children and families can continue to receive a high quality service.
Another way we ensure we are delivering a high quality service is by asking children, families, practitioners and other agencies how they think we can make things even better.
One of the noticeboards in the Family Area has lots of useful information about Contact-a-Family and Parent Partnership. A second noticeboard has information about the Bridge Centre Fund and our official fundraising organisation. We also have a place for you to leave your comments, complaints and helpful hints at the front desk.
