Welcome to the St Helens Children's Disability Service website.

The Childrens Disability Service, based at The Bridge Centre, provides a wide range of support services & advice to parents and carers of children and young people with a disability which may include additional or complex needs, learning difficulties or complex learning difficulties, sensory impairment and also children with language and social communication needs. The Service covers all disabled children and young people aged between 0 and 19 years of age, living within the St. Helens, Merseyside, area.

The Service consists of 3 departments as follows:

  • The Early Years Team, covering children aged 0-5 years old
  • The School Age Team, covering children aged 4-19 years old
  • The Social Care Team, covering children and young people aged 0-19 years old

The Children's Community Nursing Team works across all 3 departments to support those with complex health needs.

All the departments work closely together to build a continuous picture of each child as they progress throughout our Service and then eventually, if need be, into Adult Services.
